A couple of months ago, I had an appointment at GraceMed Oakville and saw Dr. Rashie Brar for concerns about hair loss. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and disheartening. After waiting 4–5 months for this appointment, I was hopeful to finally get clarity and support, and I was especially looking forward to seeing a dermatologist who might empathize with what I was going through as a woman. Dr. Brar didn’t review any of my previous bloodwork, ask about my medical history, or meaningfully explore the possible causes of my symptoms. She did not examine my hair or scalp beyond a quick pull test and told me it was stress-related, without offering an assessment specific to my case. Hair loss is delicate and can be time-sensitive depending on the cause, so I hoped for a more thorough and considerate evaluation. Throughout the visit, I felt dismissed. When I asked follow-up questions, I was made to feel like I was being inconvenient or wasting her time. When I inquired about commonly prescribed medications for female hair loss and explained my situation, she told me she couldn’t help me and advised me to see another specialist. For something as emotional and distressing as hair loss, empathy and attentiveness make a huge difference, and I did not feel that here. I truly wish I had received a more supportive and comprehensive experience. For any woman experiencing hair loss, please consider seeking care elsewhere. My concerns were not meaningfully investigated, and the appointment left me feeling dismissed rather than helped. I unfortunately cannot recommend this doctor or this clinic.
Made me and my son wait for 6 months for an appointment, when we finally took a day off and visited they made us wait 1 hour in the lobby and 1 hour in the consultation room. After the bad experience we went back again today for second appointment and had even worse experience, 90 minutes wait. When I asked to reschedule they said 6 months for next appointment.
Yes I saw Dr. Brar today and she is very good. She was very punctual and answered ALL my questions. She also looked at a couple of other things other than what my original appointment was for. It’s wonderful to find a woman medical dermatologist—better still she didn’t discharge me and told me that I could make an appointment with her if I needed anything. I’m very happy and relieved.
I have been giving this clinic the benefit of the doubt but am now at the end of my rope. Dr.mufti was great and thorough with my exam and mole removals, including his nurses! The issue lies with the front desk. Every time i have had to call or interact with them to book, rebook or accommodate them moving my appts around, im treated like an inconvenience. The latest; i had to reschedule my appt (an appt that was previously moved by them) at the last minute due to my son being sick. I was told his next available appt for a follow up was sept 2026, an entire year later! And if i wanted sooner i needed to get another referral from my gp ?. I have been having appts on a regular basis due to concerning spots. This appt was a follow up from my recent mole removal. Why on earth would i have to wait an entire year or worse get a referral to be seen again?! is this their way of punishing me for having a sick son at home and having to reschedule? The tone and condescending response from the front desk is completely unnecessary and extremely unprofessional. These types of interactions have happened far too often here. I have been patient long enough and now will be moving to a different dermatologist. *****UPDATE- You can see their response below. Convenient how an appointment popped up right after posting this review! They dont even touch on the route problem or even offer an apology for the mistreatment! I maintain my decision to move to another derm office and will continue to share my experiences with those considering this office.
I recently had a minor procedure performed at Olde Oakville Gracemed. My procedure went well and the doctor was great however my experience with one individual at the front desk was less than pleasant. All three times I have been to Gracemed I have been spoken to by this same person abruptly, left feeling as if I was a nuisance and made to feel guilty for having to be "squeezed" in even though I never asked to be. Unfortunately I feel that if you are not a paying cosmetic patient and you are seeing this office through a doctor referral covered by OHIP you are treated differently. I will not be returning to this office and will be advising my referring family doctor on my experience and requesting a referral to another dermatologist to complete the procedure.
I had the pleasure of seeing Kerri for my Botox. She is very gentle and well educated on what I needed when I asked questions. I would recommend Kerrie in a heartbeat for Botox and fillers.
I was most impressed with the services and staff at Grace/Med. Tina was informative, professional and very pleasant. I would highly recommend Grace /Med for all the services it offers.
