Super friendly staff and a huge selection of models. Greg was super friendly and very helpful after I mentioned that it would be my first build, and got me set up with the tools I'd need and what to expect. Will definitely be returning once I've finished my current build!
Friendly and helpful staff. They have a great selection of models. But my favourite thing is the mix and match bins they have where I can find random parts for my D&D creations! Highly recommend checking this place out if you build models!
Tom and the boys at Carefree sre awesome and knowledgeable. This place has a great selection of older, hard to find kits among new releases. It's a "must visit" shop.
It's a very well stocked plastic model hobby shop. They have pretty much everything you need, if not more. The older kit collections are insane, they have some vintage models for sale that have not been produced in years, even decades, and priced well. Most importantly, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. There is nothing worse than a hobby shop where the staff don't care, but from the conversations I had, there is zero doubt of that here. The staff are very passionate, easy to talk to, and patient with questions. Definitely worth going to.
Brought my son (Ty) in today, what a great store and staff! He wanted to try a model plane for the first time and everyone was so helpful and encouraging, even giving him a practice kit and extra goodies as well as advice. Also gave us a great deal. So happy we came here and we will be back, I’m sure. Highly recommend if you’re interested in model making/dioramas…interesting stuff and lots of it! Many thanks to the staff for your help today.
First started going to Carefree Hobbies at the original location on Walker’s Line in Burlington years ago, picked up many great collectibles from Nic at both locations over the years including die cast vehicles and HO scale model train accessories. Hadn’t been in a few years and finally got back a few weeks ago and was so sad to hear of Nic’s passing recently but really happy that Tom, Greg, Ian, and Simon have kept the business going hopefully with many more successful years ahead. Have been back a few times and added more to my collection.
Years ago, I wrote: "Great store, great stuff, great people!" Well, the store has changed hands, but I can say that, after visiting in August 2025, it is still true today! Carefree is a gem of a store with all kinds of awesome stuff. It's got something for everybody; die cast, kits, supplies, books, toys, trains and militaria! If you can't find something you like in there, well, I feel badly for you. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, willing to deal and you can tell they love this stuff. It shows in all aspects of the store. They also buy collections, and offer fair prices and store credit. A great way to refresh your collection without running out of space!
