It was good. It has been newly renovated. The washrooms are very clean and modern. The wait staff is very friendly and professional. There is a back room closer to the washrooms that can be used for parties and small gatherings. I was here for a baby shower with approximately 20 guests. The poached pear blue cheese salad was excellent and I would highly recommend. The butternut squash ravioli with freshly shaved Parmesan on top was absolutely delicious and a real rich Comfort Foods. The red and white house wines were also very nice and affordable and where served in Trattoria Timone personalized wine glasses. You can see a pizza oven in the kitchen which gives the restaurant a nice overall cozy feeling.
This was my first time to Trattoria Timone. I had heard great things about this place. The food did not dissapoint, the wine was good and the price I felt was fair and worth it.... my only complaint is that a large party arrived about half way through our meal and our server literally left our table to serve the party in the room behind us. She didnt say a word and never came back over to our table. There was a male server who cleared our plates and dropped dessert menus at our table. About 20 mins later I signaled him over and told him that we had decided we didnt want dessert. We asked for our bill and left. As a customer all I am saying is that people are pretty understanding and if our initial server needed to step away, someone should have picked up where she left off and provide us the same level of service. Instead we are leaving disappointed. This was on a Wednesday evening around 6pm.
Best Grilled Calamari in the GTA. We go there just to eat a dinner portion of it. Ask for it with a balsamic reduction and a side of their homemade mayo with it (not on the menu) So delicious. The staff is always friendly, and whenever we go (for the past 5 years about twice a year on date nights) we always seem to get the same great waiter Onofrio!! And when he isnt serving us, he always comes over to say hi. Well done Trattoria Timone on hiring and retaining good chefs and wait staff.
We have been a customer for years and we had a very disappointing experience tonight. The service was fine, but the food was inconsistent when it's typically great. Two people in our group of six ordered the caprese salad and they told the waitress immediately and later our waiter that the tomatoes were very firm, far too fresh and lacked taste. They told them that they could take them away. All they said was that they "would tell the kitchen". We received the bill and we were surprised to be charged for both. Aside from this we ordered antipasto platters and had to request bread and wait for some time. All mains were served on extremely hot platters / dishes which were so hot that the food was difficult to eat for a period and was over cooked . My veal which I ordered rare was medium well and lacked flavour. Unfortunate and disappointing!
Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. I think it's definitely one of my favourites. It's always busy but not to the point where you feel ignored. The food is great and they have a great selection of wines as well. I would highly recommend it for a date night!
