I recommend McKenna plumbing. I have used this company twice in the past month for two separate plumbing problems. In both cases, the service was prompt, professional and a reasonable price.
I would NOT recommend this company.On June 7 of this year, water began leaking through my living room ceiling just below the bathroom. I looked on the internet and McKenna Plumbing advertised 24 hr emergency service. So, I called them.They came in the next day and told me that I would need to have replaced my full waste, overflow trap and drain lateral. They told me it would cost $1600. I was despetate to get the job done. So, I agreed.They did the work and three days later the leak began again. I phoned them and told this. They came in the next day, assessed the situation and said it was because I needed a new shower door, that water was seeping out of it. I agreed. The new shower door cost about $1000 with installation. The leak stopped for two weeks, then started again. I called them again. However, before they came, I placed rolled up towels around the edge of the tub, thinking that the water was seeping through the silicon seal. I got someone to take a shower and sure enough, there was no leaking. I phoned McKenna and told them this and asked them to come in and seal around the tub. They came in. But, instead of sealing around the tub, they sealed around the tap of the shower and told me that this would do no good and that they would have to take out all the tiles and put in a new wall on the tap side of the shower. This, they said, would be above the $1600 they already charged me.Instead of doing this, I asked someone to seal around the tub (as I had originally asked McKenna). After this person (not associated with McKenna) did this, the leak was fixed. Also, there is still a hole in my ceiling left by McKenna Plumbing.You may draw any conclusion you wish from these facts. But, I felt that it was extremely important that I post this incident publically.I will never use this company again; and will discourage anyone in the GTA from doing so.Sincerely,Tim O'Brien
