Yesterday I had one of the most inspiring experiences since I arrived in Canada. I had the privilege of visiting Oakville Futsal Club, where I was warmly welcomed by Eddy Berdusco (Technical Director) and Tom Milligan (General Manager). The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by history, jerseys from legends like Tafarel and the 1994 World Cup, reminders of Eddy’s own journey as a player, paintings of Pelé and other icons, football arcade games, and much more. But what truly struck me was the combination of tradition, values, and innovation. They built a court from scratch, with safety foams on the walls to protect the kids, and implemented training that blends innovation with deep values, so players can grow both on and off the court. At The Clinic, their training center, players work with cutting-edge tools like LED-ball systems and wearable ankle trackers. Tom has built a full data system that allows parents, players, and coaches to see performance stats, track development, and even balance internal tournaments based on real progress. The system gives players scores on agility, stamina, strength, and technical skills like dribbling and shooting. This helps tailor training so each athlete can flourish as the best version of themselves. Tom does individual analysis for every single player! They also developed the S.H.I.E.L.D. Leadership Program, introduced in 2022. While futsal develops athletes technically and tactically, S.H.I.E.L.D. provides a holistic plan that supports the social and emotional pillars of development. Athletes can earn six medallions throughout their journey by demonstrating: Sportsmanship, Heart, Integrity, Enthusiasm, Leadership, and Dignity. Beyond the technology and programs, what moved me the most was watching the training sessions, seeing how much the kids feel valued, motivated, and supported. Boys and girls train together, learning not only technical skills but also leadership, discipline, and respect. Eddie is right there on the court, teaching with passion and presence. And it’s no coincidence. Eddy proudly represented Canada’s National Team (1988–1997), played professionally around the world, and was part of the inaugural FIFA Futsal World Cup. Today, with more than 20 years of coaching experience, he shares that same passion with young players in Oakville. Tom, on the other hand, brings a unique mix of sport, analytics, and leadership. With experiences in Coca Cola and other multinationals and decades of experience in sport as a player, referee, and coach, he has developed systems that blend data and performance insights with athlete development. Watching him track every player’s growth with such dedication was truly remarkable. This is futsal in its purest form, combining history, innovation, and values, and it’s amazing to see it flourishing here in Canada. I left Oakville deeply inspired, and more people should be aware of the work being done there.
We had our son’s birthday party at Oakville Futsal Club & it was absolutely amazing. Everything was so well organized - everyone had a fantastic time! Heather & Tom and their team were so incredibly kind & helpful, we really appreciate all their efforts. It absolutely exceeded our expectations! Highly recommend.
Similar to other reviews - Oakville Futsal Club is great. We had our son’s birthday party on the weekend , everything was well planned out , and the kids had a blast . It caters to all kids of different levels. You will not be disappointed hosting your party here . Thank you Tom and Heather for making it effortless and the parents can sit back and relax .
I can't say enough good things about Oakville Futsal Club. The facility is top-notch, the staff is friendly and professional. I play pick-up with a group of friends and my son was in the house league program. I look forward to visiting every week!
Our son has been part of the Oakville Futsal Club for a few years, and we are very fortunate to be able to go to such an amazing facility and well run soccer club. The coaching is very strong, up beat, constructive and very high quality. The facility is clean, new, they invest in technology and there's a fun area for siblings that might be there to hang out and have fun. Thank you to the entire staff for creating such an amazing atmosphere, my only complaint, is our son loves it so much it's hard to get him out!
Great Futsal Club. Eddie is a former CDN MNT player as well as a famous coach in Oakville (at OSC). He really cares about the youth and will take time to give individual/personal attention that young players need to develop. Some classes and/or House League spots are hard to get in but that happens when there is a high quality of coaching and facilities.
Been playing at the Club for many years. Friendly owners and employees. Great place to work on your foot skills, as the game/training setup is conducive to alot of touches on the ball!
