The fit came out exactly right, and the quality of the stitching is excellent. I’m very satisfied with their service and would definitely recommend Stitch It for any tailoring or alterations.
I brought in two Halloween costumes to be hemmed. I specifically asked for a simple, basic hem, nothing fancy, since these were just costumes. I was told that would not be a problem. I was charged $30. However, the costumes were not hemmed at all. They were simply cut. I was under the impression I paid for a hem and instead received a straight cut with no finishing, no stitching, and no actual alteration beyond trimming the fabric. Above all, there was no communication that it was just going to be a straight cut. Being charged $30 for a basic cut, after being led to believe they would be properly hemmed, left me feeling completely misled and taken advantage of, and when I told them that I was upset, they just said too bad that is your problem.
Several times now I brought something in to fix and I have had issues. They pick and choose what they want to do and make sure it's the most expensive solution! 1) I had a hole in the elbow of a shirt repaired that lasted one wear because of poor workmanship. Returned for rework ....still waiting. 2) They would not reinforce the area in and around the button in my girl friends pants that was loose unless we bought new buttons. I took it to my dry cleaner and they repaired in 5 minutes no charge 3) I brought an expensive coat in to have the linkng repaired at the shoulder. They would not do it unless I replaced the entire lining in the sleeve for $100. I took it elsewhere and it was done as I asked for $25. I suggest to look at other options for repairs or alterations before visiting this store. It seems like the seamstresses only want to do things one way and the front end staff can only say sorry. It's the classic case of " the inmates are running the prison". ...too bad.
I brought them a pair of work pants to fix as the last person I went to had altered them uneven. They took my pants and asked me to come back 1 week later. When I went to pick them up they were still uneven but I wasn’t sure because I can’t see when I turn sideways to look in the mirror. so I asked my coworker when I wore them back to work. It turned out super uneven andddd when I went back I told them one side is too long and other side too short. Stupid me accepted the pants after they altered it. They were too short but at least even this time. I only noticed when I got home and wore the slightly platformed shoes that I normally wear. I just don’t have the energy to force them to alter it again. Now I took out the stitches and will be going to another place. Waste of my time and money. I have to say they were nice but I just don’t feel like they were precise.
I had a great experience at this location. Brought in a pair of pants for hemming. After I picked them up noticed they were just a bit too short. Brought them back within their 30 day ‘fit guarantee’ and they fixed the length right on the spot, free of charge. Excellent customer service.
