I have been going to Musicboxx for the last few months to learn the basics and the skills needed to master the tricks to the trade in DJing. Jim has not only been an amazing teacher thus far but also puts the time and effort into creating a curriculum that suit me and my schedule. I started taking DJ classes in August at Musicboxx and it has been absolutely fantastic. Jim is one of the owner's and is very well organized, effective and overall a great teacher. His costs are beyond fair, his availability is great, classes are not rushed, so the value is high. Having Jim as a trainer/tutor/teacher and being in the industry for that many years he brings a lot to the table in terms of thoroughly understanding the best way to format a beginner's class and build up. From handouts to hands-on, Jim has an exceptional ability to explain the technicalities required for a strong foundation to independently mix and create. Classes are very hands-on with a lot of demonstrating and student practice. He is by far one of the best teachers I have had in terms of learning a new skill and I highly recommend Musicboxx for lessons. However that is not all they do, so check it out if you are interested in learning more.
