As someone who has both received service and worked here I can say most of the 1 star reviews are accurate. This spa has a large turnover rate for employees. The owner also asks customers to leave positive google reviews (and has even asked employees to make fake positive reviews) whenever a negative one appears, and only responds to the negative ones.. shady place.
I'm writing this on behalf of a faulty review that has been posted by the above "Joey C" from Oakville who is pretending to be me (not doing a very good job at it by the way), and who has decided to write a terrible review about my prior employer and work colleagues at D Spa in Oakville. Since this has just come to my attention within the last day, I would like to make a response to the above spam review of this "Joey C" who is posing as me and slandering my name and experience at D Spa.The fake "Joey C" above, I suggest you stop writing reviews under my name and find a better way to utilize your time and energy, as it will now be obvious that this review is simply not written by me. Why you ask? (1) You can see I have a photo associated with my Google account you don't.(2) Im also listed as Joey Close on Google not "Joey C" (3) I don't write the way you have displayed above or use any of the vocabulary you chose to use in this awful review. So, quite a failed attempt I must say, but nice try.To those looking to visit D Spa:I worked at D Spa over a year ago while I was still a student and left not because of a bad work experience, or the service I received, or anything in relation to what this "Joey C" above is stating. I had a great experience working at D Spa. Dawn was a great boss and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. This is why I am quite baffled by this faulty review and felt the great urgency to post this in response. I would recommend D Spa (which I have on many occasions since leaving) as a relaxing and well-serviced establishment. Its unfortunate that someone has this amount of time on their hands to act as me and to post such a ludicrous review on my behalf. Joey C if you had a bad experience, I suggest you step up and use your own name going forward and not hide behind mine. Thanks.
**EDIT: To the "owner" I never once stated I seen mould I said I overheard a conversation regarding mould in one of the rooms. I am well within my right to post my experience at your business. This is NOT a fake review, rather my side of the story. I did not use my real name for my review to protect my anonymity, so there is absolutely no way for you to confirm anything with your records. And threatening "legal counsel" over my legitimate review is just a joke!. I advise everyone to look at how many 1 star reviews this place has before passing judgement** This place is BY FAR the worst spa I've ever been to. Everything was dirty including the spa chairs, lack of available product for sale on shelves. The first time I attempted to go to this spa I witnessed a female employee being escorted out of the spa in handcuffs by the police...That should have been the first red flag, yet I decided to give it another try. Overheard a conversation regarding mould in one of the rooms but decided to continue with my appointment. The women who actually did my service was very nice, no complaints there. The owner or manager whoever she is named "Dawn" is by far the rudest and most ignorant person I've ever spoken to. I honestly have no idea how this place is still in business based entirely on the attitude of "Dawn" and the cleanliness of the spa. My advice, spend your money elsewhere!
Its very obvious now that all the positive reviews were either manufactured or the owner paid these people off because the spa is now closed for business. Every single bad review was warranted and that is the reason this place is out of business. HORRIBLE ownership/management, the owner treated everyone like absolute garbage. Calling police with fake complaints and making false reports to the governmentare are just some of the things this person has done to previous employees. When the employees are treated like trash you can only imagine how customers were spoken about once they left...This location and the Etobicoke one have been for sale for some time now with 0 interest, so I advise everyone to NOT purchase any gift cards for the remaining location as the doors will probably be closed as well.
Went for a mani pedi. They felt very unprofessional and it seemed like they didnt know what they were doing. My finger paint went bumpy and bubbly within an hour after, and the lady that did my toes kept messing up and having to wipe away polish on my skin. Ive been to get mani Pedis elsewhere, and they are cheaper and you end up getting a foot massage and a hand massage, and I got neither here. And I was there near closing and felt very rushed like all they wanted to do was go home. And I felt bad but I had to wait for my nails to dry. Overpriced for what you receive. Could have done a better job at home.
