I have generally been quite pleased with this brand Atmosphere, especially admiring the attractive design of their stores. Nevertheless, at this particular location, I have encountered a persistent problem with the availability of assistance. Today, after finding a salesperson and asking about a certain model in my size, a young man, who appeared to be about the same age as my son, mentioned he would be with me shortly. My present concern involves the store manager. Given that customers can easily investigate options online, as I did while waiting for your employee, I waited for fifteen minutes without any follow-up. I am rather disappointed that this otherwise outstanding establishment seems to have become a place where it is challenging to make a purchase.
I just went into Atmosphere to buy a pair of waterproof hiking shoes. I was warmly greeted by an associate names Jen. She had fantastic product knowledge and based on the type of shoe that normally fits me well she made some creative suggestions. She also made recommendations for some waterproof treatment I was looking to pick up for my partner. She also gave me some suggestions to fix a pair of shoes i already have. There is a reason why you can't buy everything online, the reason is you won't have access to experts like Jen. Jen, I love my new hikers!!!
This place is a bit of a scam. Went online to find snowshoes and they stated they had them at their Oakville store 50 km away. We got there and Atmosphere is actually just a department at the Sportcheck store. They didn't have any in-stock and staff didn't even know they sold that product!
UPDATE: Went yesterday to look at boots and Alexandre was there helping us. She did a great job looking after everybody in the area actually. What an enthusiastic sales associate! The door to the store is now open so you don't have to go in through Sportchek but too bad the upstairs is still not open. Still a neat and clean store. ========== Bigger than you think. It's attached to Sportchek next door which is much bigger, and if you didn't know, this is the "camping" division of Sportchek. Has lots of technical outdoor clothing and the gear is upstairs. Yup there's an upstairs. Tents and everything. Not as big as MEC but best or only choice in the area. Few staff in this area but friendly if they encounter you and eager to help. Winners next door too if you can't find something here and want to go cheaper, but the prices are ok here and good when there's a sale.
Really disappointed Had called prior to coming and they told us they had what we wanted in stock. Drove here and their camping section is pretty non existent. its in the corner with spoons n forks and tons of clothes and coolers. They have closed the entire upstairs camping section as well. What a waste of time.
Went for their advertised Asics GT 2000 $89.98 Sales guy says they keep those on the other side (Sport Chek). We go over him and another sales guy bring me to the Asics, Sport Chek sales guy tells me there's blue and grey they are $160ish I say the flyer said they're on sale for $89. He says nope that all we got and names other shoes on sale. I hope people don't fall for this scam.
