Longo’s is a bit pricy but I love shopping there. A lot of organic choices and good brands. I will be happier if they promote more Canadian products and less American choices. I usually eliminate American products from my shopping bag.
Longo’s at Southeast Oakville truly elevates the everyday grocery run. The store welcomes you with immaculate aisles, beautifully presented fresh produce, and the inviting scent of expertly crafted baked goods that instantly sets the tone for a quality shopping experience. Their range is impressive — from vibrant fruits and vegetables to top-grade meats, gourmet cheeses, and a ready-to-eat section that feels refined and thoughtfully curated. I was there for a special dinner shop and the quality is always top-tier. The produce is beautifully fresh, the meat counter is excellent, and their prepared foods are a lifesaver. The store is bright, clean, and well-organized. It's definitely on the pricier side, so it's more of a treat than my everyday stop. The checkout can be slow during peak hours, but the consistent quality keeps me coming back.
Very clean grocery store and everything looks fresh and ready to come home. There is a good variety of groceries available. Some items I have never seen before which was interesting. I will be back again.?
Experience is generally good. Good ready-to go meals, some great products (longos brand pasta sauce is our favorite). Produce is often good but sometimes not so good. Our go-to for cakes unless we're doing something special, bakery is quite good. Has a Starbuck in-house which is nice.
As a longtime customer of Longo's I notice the decline in service especially at the Oakville south store as well as head office customer service. August 2025 when I dared to ask a question at checkout about depleted stock, the cashier mostly frowned and ignored me and a staffer who turned out to be the assistant customer service manager vented to me that she has worked the long weekend and it was very busy. She was dismissive of my question, walked away, reciting a derogatory "have a nice day" aka GET LOST! I tried to express my concern to head office. From 3:00-3:30. I dialed and redialed, no answer after the prompts, only a hang up/disconnect, leaving me wondering if there was a magic phone prompt that gets a person to answer. Maybe the 51% sale of Longo's to The Empire Company is revealing the future of Longos. Promotional sale items are often sold out but hey, you've been drawn there by the flyer promotions, so you may as well get what is available on your list and pay some of the highest prices of any grocery store in the GTA. It's sad to see the Longo's family vision on the decline. After today I feel head office customer service should change their greeting from " where customers are like family" to "don't bother." The Bay should serve as a lesson to other retailers, including grocery stores. Oh wait, people have to eat and Amazon hasn't started fresh food delivery......Yet. I took the time to write this because I am truly saddened to see only one or two of the Oakville south staff actually have a concept of customer retention.
Had a birthday party at the loft with Holly yesterday. Kids had a blast and Holly was very accommodating and professional!! Thank you for a great evening!!
Always a great place. The only beef - pun intended- that I have is that the stores don't all have the same layout so something that's easy to find at my usual store can have me searching at another.
Longos is generally a great grocery store. This one gets 5 stars because of a few things. Location is prime... Right next Harpers Landing and Kids and Co daycare. Parking is always a breeze... spots abound. And the prepared foods bar is delicious... but the big win is the dining area to eat in store. Very nice.
Nice salad bar and hot food section with bar and tables to eat at upstairs. Pricey but good variety and quality.
The Sushi on Tuesday is awesome $8.99 and they use brown rice as well! I hate white rice! The Sushi lady is usually there which doesn't happen often at the Bento Booths! The salad bar and hot buffet are perfect! I wish I took the name of the lady at the salad bar so friendly!
Great customer service! Variety of Fruits and vegetables! Clerks know how to pack the food properly!
