I needed to repair a worn down plank of a small section of my hardwood floor and tried the usual Minwax wood filler which was a complete disaster because it would not absorb the stain despite having sanded and doing all the right things to prepare the wood. The wood filler obviously needed to be sanded off & then tried scraping it - it came off like paint chips with a credit card & a paint scraper and the look was absolutely a disaster. I phoned Minwax company asking for help, solutions and suggestions and received no response or assistance whatsoever for over a week. I called Sherwin-Williams in Oakville, explained my situation, I brought pictures to show the complete mess that everything had made with Minwax and sanding etc. and they suggested the pink Dry Dex filler solution to to fill in the cracks and worn out areas which I did. I waited the appropriate period of time, sanded it all down and then applied my gel stain as I had done previously. The results were absolutely spectacular. The Dry Dex absorbed the stain almost completely matching the rest of the wood and I just need to apply a second coat of the gel stain for it to be perfect. I am so appreciative that there was someone knowledgable, available, understood my situation and was able to help me out with a solution the same day after futilely calling Minwax and emailing them for well over 10 days and getting no response the pink Dry Dex completed the job for me and produced perfect results. I gave five stars to Sherwin-Williams in Oakville and to the people who assisted me in my desperation.

I had a problem with a paint can that was leaking from the bottom. Took it in to the store and they transferred the paint to a new can. They also taped up the old can and stopped the leak. No charge/no hassle.
I only ever bought Benjamin Moore paint in the past. I now prefer Sherwin Williams, quite frankly, in terms of ease of application. Ben.M. started making their paint so fast drying that it would peel off onto the roller or paint brush and then get reapplied as chunks of paint. Talk about frustrating and horrible! My first Sherwin Williams purchase was made to save money, but I was over the top pleased at how great the paint is, and the fact that I had no trouble with application whatsoever. I have given up on Benjamin Moore. Sherwin Williams is my new love. And they can match any BM colour.
