I have been coming here since June 2025 and I've had a great experience. The receptionist are always so welcoming and friendly, especially the ones that wear a headscarf. However today there was a woman with an Arab accent and brownish-blonde hair. She was unfriendly, did not make eye contact or smile even once. I hope that she is more pleasant next time.
Royal oak clinic has been my family clinic for nearly 11 years. I can’t say I have ever had a positive experience at this clinic. The reception staff is incredibly rude, and honestly lazy. They will communicate in the least amount of words possible, give you condescending answers, and be immediately rude the second they sense any frustration coming from you. Dr.Skendaj was my family doctor, and due to her service I have honestly lost most of my faith in Canadian healthcare. Below I will explain the mistreatment I have experienced under Dr. Skendaj’s care. She has prescribed me incorrect antibiotics for strep throat, without testing me for strep. These antibiotics made me a lot worse because I actually had mono, these antibiotics made me violently sick and led me to the hospital twice, it was at the hospital that the doctors told me I didn’t have strep and that no doctor in their right mind would prescribe these antibiotics without preforming a strep test first. Additionally, Dr.Skendaj prescribed me aklief gel for my skin, and directed me to use it once a day. This caused literal chemical burns on my face. Lastly, each and every time I have had an appointment with Dr.skendaj in the last 3 years or so, she is consistently 45min or more late to my appointment, and then rushed through the entire appointment and sees me for maybe a maximum of 5 minutes. Making me late to work and school on multiple occasions. On one occasion I could even hear Dr.Skendaj talking in a nearby room cracking jokes and talking about something completely unrelated to any patient, while she was over an hour late to my appointment. If you value your health or your families health, don’t go to royal oak. As they absolutely do not value the wellbeing of their patients.
Terrible terrible service! Was just told my file was terminated because 1. I've seen a different Dr at a WALK IN CLINIC!!!!! 2. Being healthy and not needing to see your Dr regularly is apparently a problem. No warning no nothing. Been with this clinic almost 17 years and needed a note for my benefits company only to find out they terminated my file and their reasoning was BS.
Dr.Choi used to be great, attentively toward patients needs. Concerns were dismissed ,minimized ignored. Ageism goes both ways. Staff deserves a salary increase, high stress jobs most patients don't valued
I have been Dr.Choi patient for over 25 yrs. mostly cosmetic procedures. He didn't do much when medical care needed. Dr. Skendaj was my family Dr. , called today to make an appt. to be told I have been Terminated? What kind of answer is this, are we in Canada or drs'staff are crossing the line? If don't hear from them will follow a complaint with the Ombudsman all the way up. Dr.Skendaj had the results of a test indicating viral infection, an antibiotic was prescribed, She changed Her mind,retrieved it at the pharmacy. I walked out in awe without a must needed medication. Her staff stated "She could loose Her license " Prescribing a much needed med after waiting months with visible devastating symptoms then She changed Her mind grabing the pilds from the pharmaceutic hand . To go back might be dangerous to my well being. Dr.Skendaj, you must care about your patients instead of protecting your license..sad. we really liked you.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Evis Skendaj for the past 23 years and she has never failed me as yet in terms of hearing my concerns and treating me accordingly to my needs. She’s the best Family physician in Oakville.
My GP referred my for a skin issue and i was given an appointment with Dr Choi within a few days. Easy to park outside the building. Inside i was dealt with by a friendly and efficent receptionist. Dr Choi was punctual and polite. My condition was diagnosed, explained and treated with liquid nitrogen. I'm booked for my follow-up, in 1 month, and I am looking forward to going. A very pleasant and professional experience.
