I've had my hair cut here once by the owner herself. She was nice enough but didn't listen to what I wanted done with my hair what so ever. She cut it to my ears and told me she had to to get rid of split ends, I realise alot of the lower length of my hair was not on the best shape as I had had bleached hair for years but when I ask for a.shoulder length cut I expect that and my hair dresser doesn't get to make that decision without getting an okay. After that I didn't go back for a long time .. I went back recently inquiring about different procedures for my hair which is now bleached again. And she flat out refused , there was no discussion, no helpfulness, she actually had the audacity to grab a piece of my hair and say I wouldn't even touch your hair with color. Now im not a professional, but I went to another place and they had no problem explaining how they would tackle my bleached hair with milder chemicals and no more permanent dyes until my hair is back to a healthier state. To be completely honest I think this is a terrible place and completely believe the bad reviews, I've never once even been greeted with a smile when entering. Terrible service.
I went into Lori's hair den asking for a full head of highlights with room at the roots to look grown out. During my 6.5 hours there, the following occurred. Dana started out by dying my hair VERY dark at the roots. She left a lot of the dye still in my hair after dying it and completely stained my forehead, neck and ears with dye (When I got home I had scrub my skin raw to remove most of it, but unfortunately it didn't all come out). The highlights themselves were very uneven and blotchy, as shown in the photos. The bleach completely fried my hair. In some areas the bleach had been left on for 4 hours. During those 4 hours I kept insisting it must be done as I myself am not familiar with bleach ever being left on for more than an hour. Dana also had another client while my bleach was setting and I think she may have told me it was fine as she was too busy to actually look and wash it out. I even offered to rinse it myself as I had a really bad feeling about how long the bleach was being left in for. After finally washing it out Dana used a toner. While applying she got toner in my eye which needless to say hurt pretty bad. On top of everything, I felt very uncomfortable during the entire process especially when the other client came in and Dana obviously was not able to do both of us at once. She kept making comments about how my hair was so thick etc that just left me continuously apologizing as she made me feel as though an inconvenience to her.I was very upset as my hair was bleached uneven, fried, and white in some areas. Sadly, when I went to another salon to get it fixed (which they did to the point they could) the white blonde could not be removed as my hair is ruined which is really upsetting to me. The new salon I went to explained my hair will not hold colour as Dana had over processed it. On a good note, I was given a full refund (although Lori made me very uncomfortable about it as she said things like "I don't have time for this" etc). However I did have to spend almost 300$ getting it fixed and it still isn't near perfect as it's fried and unable to hold colour. I'm very upset as I'm sure most girls out there would be (especially considering I just recently cut off so much of my hair to make it healthy). I just really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I would not suggest seeing Dana or going to lori's hair den for highlights or any colour.
My Fiancee made an appointment to have her hair coloured here on Thursday May 19, 2016 at 2pm.. (highlights and low-lights, toned throughout) and despite the bubbly demeanor of Dana the stylist, the result was appalling. After 6+ hours in the salon, we said yes its good as we felt very rushed to get out as Dana was trying to get home so she could prepare to see her new boyfriend the next day. So we paid, tipped and left without fully going through my fiancee's hair. (we were starving, tired, and couldn't wait to leave ourselves as it was past 8pm at this point.) Also good to know that Dana had forgot my Fiancee in the chair after her lunch, (probably resulting in the over bleaching of the hair, and the burn marks on her face) then after tried to put more toner in her hair when she was sitting caked in it already, (she was juggling several clients at once) and was scared herself at one pint saying "Oh no, this isn't the colour it was suppose to be"But it wasn't till we got home till we really saw the problems. My Fiancee had burn marks on her face from the bleach, a brown stain on her cheek, the front of her hair was yellow, with an odd brown streak running through it, when she pulled her hair in a ponytail, she had more dark brown stripes along each side and instead of a blonde white colour, it was more grey and dull. All in all, we paid over $200 including tip for the work, spent over 6 hours of our time but it only got worse! My Fiancee called the next day to see about getting it fixed. The receptionist was not pleasant on the phone and said Dana could fix it on Tuesday only. I called myself to speak with the Owner, the owner said the same thing. Said they were booked. Said she "couldn't make time out of thin air" to accommodate us. (I always appreciate a Salon owner teaching me about Space Time, thanks, I'm not an idiot) I asked if someone could stay later-after hours as they made us stay over 6 hours, plus we had to stay past closing in the first place, she flat out said NO. it was their way or no way. Not even did they offer a discount or another alternative. She said she was offering to fix it, but they expected my Fiancee to spend the next 4 days with a bad colour job, then spend an additional 2+ hours to come in on Tuesday to have it fixed. We work, we have children, and there was no respect for us as clients. I believe they wanted to do a good job, but the time management skills of this young woman were perhaps the second largest fault besides the "I dont know, this is new colour we are using, so i am not sure how it will be" clearly training is required among lessons in customer service. Finally, its very apparent Lorri's time is more important than ours, the client. Customer service is not just offering a coffee. This is not how you operate in the service industry, or in business in general. I would like to see a better result from this but i am not holding my breath. Fix it sooner or give me my $200 back.
Ladies are great here. Coffee offered and great music. Appointments can be made online.
Amazing salon. Lorri is lovely. Dana is the only stylist in my life who I've made a point of always going back to. Great group, LOVE my colour.
